Clumsy Celeb

It all started with an idea

Decisions Decisions

I was playing a game called ‘Reigns’ which made me think of a board game that results in decision making. You are an ordinary being that wants to gain fame and popularity. In order to do so, you balance out the number of tokens you get such as: Wellbeing, Charisma, Money and Property. You draw out cards and make your decisions ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ depending on which you think is right, it will either increase or decrease your tokens. Too much or too little of either good or bad will lead to a bad ending. It will be a double edge sword when it comes to your decision-making.

So i decided to call “decisions decisions” ➜ “clumsy celeb” because you either make good or bad decisions. So I did some rough play testing.. (will post the game rules up once I’m done writing them out) and got some amazing feedback that helped balance out the game. I still have to edit it a little more to make the game a little more interesting and have a replay-ability function. So the endings are filled with surprises! Will keep updating this for now. Took me a while to write up the story and the yes and no answers! I’m glad it somewhat makes people chuckle a little!

I then made some illustrations for some cards

It was my first time using adobe illustrator so it was difficult for me to make shapes and such so I had some fun facing the challenges.

To play this game the player starts by setting up the cards in order.

The question cards are placed in between 'yes' and 'no' cards with the game over cards being placed away from the main decks. The player starts off with five tokens to play the game.

The player picks up a question card and then pick either 'yes' or 'no'.

Here, the player picks 'no' and then has to either gain or lose tokens.

Then once the player finishes gaining or losing tokens, they pick up the next question card.

When the player has no more tokens in one category, it is game over.

If the player has too many tokens, it is also game over.

Once it is game over, the player picks the related game over card to read what happens to the player and their celebrity life.

Once the player has finished all the question cards, they have won the game.

The player then picks up the related game over card to read what has happened to their celebrity life.
